Amanda Tillett was awarded Principal Bass Trombone with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra in 2023, previously serving as Tutti Trombone with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra.
Under the tutelage of Howard Parkinson, Amanda graduated from the Elder Conservatorium of Music at the University of Adelaide with an Honours degree in Classical Music Performance,
before undertaking the Professional Performance Program at the Australian National Academy of Music (ANAM) in Melbourne. Following this she was the Trombone Fellow with the Sydney
Symphony Orchestra in 2017 and 2018, while working regularly with the Adelaide, Sydney, Tasmanian, Queensland and Melbourne Symphony Orchestras as well as Opera Australia and
Orchestra Victoria.
In her spare time Amanda likes to ride bikes of both the motor and push varieties, read comic books, and will occasionally check that she can still play a high F on tenor trombone.
