Kate Macfarlane

Kate Macfarlane is a coloratura soprano who has earned a reputation as an exciting and versatile performer on both the operatic and concert platforms. She completed a Masters degree in Baroque vocal performance from the Hochschule für Musik in Cologne with renowned countertenor Kai Wessel, and has performed to critical acclaim in opera, lieder, and oratorio across Germany and Australia. Kate appears regularly as a soloist in Melbourne and Adelaide, where she enjoys creating intimate and engaging musical connections with audiences.

Over the course of her career, she has appeared with IOpera, Lyric Opera of Melbourne, Adelaide Baroque, Consort of Melbourne, the Royal Melbourne Philharmonic, SOSA, Victorian Opera, Various People, Theater Aachen, Watch This, the Acht Brücken festival, Kölnermusiknacht, the Port Fairy Spring festival, the Gotha Barockfest, and both the Adelaide Fringe and Cabaret Fringe festivals. Kate most recently appeared in South Australia as a soloist with both the Adelaide Cantata Band, and Adelaide Baroque Orchestra.
